The Community Forum for Economic Justice shares the view held by the Restorative Justice Collaborative Hub, that restorative justice is a process that cultivates community-based accountability, supports survivors, helps people take responsibility, and repairs and transforms individual, historic, and systemic harms. We believe that restorative justice is a necessary alternative to the punitive and often violent response to harms that are perpetrated between individuals within communities, by and within institutions that serve communities, and between individuals and institutions.
