The Housing as a Human Right Action Group is joining the South Bend Tenants Association in supporting changes to Indiana law that provide addition protection for tenants facing unsafe and non-habitable housing units.
On Thursday, we will hold a public meeting of the issues and how you can help. While most landlords are responsible, a growing number of bad actors artificially reduce Indiana’s housing stock by charging rent while evading compliance with health and safety laws.
Please share information about the public meeting with friends, family and neighbors, especially those who are — or ever have been — a tenant whose landlord refused to make necessary repairs.
