District 10 Senator Broden has been a frequent speaker at Community Forum events, and represents residents of Central St. Joseph County, including most of South Bend and Mishawaka. He is the Ranking Minority Member of both the Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee and the Local Government Committee of the Indiana Senate.
Senator Karen Tallian represents State Senate District 4, which includes portions of northern Porter County and several townships in LaPorte County. She is the Ranking Minority Member of both the Pensions and Labor Committee and the Appropriations Committee, on which she is a member of the School Funding Sub-committee.
They will address issues such as the need to increase the Minimum Wage in Indiana and an employee’s "right to scheduled employment.” They will respond to Governor Pence’s characterization of the 2015 General Assembly as the “education session,” reviewing both budget and policy issues affecting public education in Indiana, and will examine recent state legislation about Vacant and Abandoned Housing.
Senators Broden and Tallian also will respond to questions from area residents about controversial decisions that have dominated the news during the past several months. Join us with your questions and comments.
